Creating A Holiday Planner in 31 Days!

Today's printable is for creating a family "bucket list" of things to do throughout the Christmas season! You can see part of my list above. With DH in the Army, we move around a fair amount. After 3 years in the deep south, we're SO excited to be farther north again where we can go cut down a Christmas tree again and it's cold enough to snuggle by the fireplace! Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get a bit of snow again this year and get to make snow angels and have a snowball fight... What things are on your "must do" list for the winter season? Don't forget to check out any local holiday festivals that your area might be hosting! 

Below is a FREE blank printable where you can fill in all of your favorite activities to make sure you don't miss out on doing anything during the Christmas season! There's a column for items to "do" and a column for items to "bake!"

So are you ready to wrap up these book lists? I hope they've given you some new books to explore and perhaps add to your current and future holiday lists! Today I wanted to share some of our family's favorite Christmas-themed books! Our Christmas Book Basket contains a variety of book topics- from secular Christmas to Advent & Epiphany to Christmastide (aka. the 12 days of Christmas).

We have a 2.5 yro toddler in the house who, thankfully, loves to read! So most nights before bed, we all snuggle in and read a small pile of books. This Christmas season we'll be unwrapping one book per night- it will be a mix of old and new books for our little one since we're still building our stash! I have to confess that I'm a stickler for beautiful illustrations, even in children's books, or perhaps especially in children's books! However, some of these books I did pick out with purely my toddler's favorite things in mind. So! Without further ado, let me share my list with you! In no particular order...

So today we are finally delving into the, I'm sure, long awaited for Christmas section of our holiday planners! I thought we might start out with me sharing some of our family's favorite Winter-themed books! Our Winter/Christmas/Advent Book Basket will be super full this year. We're starting a new tradition of opening one book per day of Advent & Christmastide (the 12 days of Christmas that lead up to the Epiphany) and doing a corresponding movie, craft, and/or baking adventure with each book! Should be fun :)

So did anyone find some great Autumn books to read after yesterday's post? Today I wanted to help fill out your Thanksgiving To-Do lists with some of our family's favorite Thanksgiving-themed books! Our Thanksgiving Book Basket is getting ready in the wings, coming out next month for turkey day month ;)

We have a 2.5 yro toddler in the house who, thankfully, loves to read! I have to confess that I'm a stickler for beautiful illustrations, even in children's books, or perhaps especially in children's books! However, some of these books I did pick out with purely my toddler's favorite things in mind.  We were moving at Thanksgiving last year, so we don't have a huge stockpile yet, but I plan to rectify that next month ;) So! So how are everyone's Autumn and Thanksgiving lists coming? Today I wanted to help fill out your lists with some of our family's favorite Autumn-themed books! Our Autumn Book Basket is really a figurative basket at the moment, as currently it's a messy pile on our nightstand, hehe. When I get a spare minute, I plan on picking up an actual lovely basket that can successfully hold our ever growing pile of Autumn books!

Today we're continuing with Thanksgiving-themed printables and today is bonus day! At the bottom of the post is not just one but THREE (3) FREE blank printables where you can fill in all of your ideas for turkey day dinner! There's a place to keep track of all your menu planning needs...

• Thanksgiving Menu Ideas: it's exciting to plan a big dinner, especially if you're hosting friends and family! As ideas for what to serve start swirling through your thoughts, jot them all down here- you can narrow down your choices and decide on a final plan as the dinner approaches!
• Thanksgiving Menu Plan: here's where you can write out your final dinner plans. This includes a place to write down which course the food is for (appetizer, main dish, dessert, etc.), the recipe name, the source (Pinterest, cookbook name & page, family recipe), the time it takes to both prep and cook the dish, as well as any particular notes about that dish (double the recipe, etc.)
• Thanksgiving Grocery List: as you finalize your menu plan, don't forget to write down all of the ingredients on this list- it will make heading to the grocery store so much easier!

At the bottom of the post is a FREE blank printable where you can fill in all of your ideas for how to spruce up your home with festive Autumn Decor! Below is a list of ideas to get you started- many of these are ideas that I've used in my home in the past! Other ideas can readily be found on Pinterest of course, and magazines- check out my Holiday: Autumn Pinterest board for some ideas, if you'd like! This of course goes in my Autumn section of my Holiday Planner- the last autumn printable of the series! Tomorrow we move on to Thanksgiving :)

(4) DIY Paper Pumpkins (great kid craft, too!)

Some simple Autumn decor ideas, many are DIY too....

• framed leaf punches (or pumpkins, bats, etc)
• framed 3-D pumpkin
• yarn balls in festive fall colors
• DIY Autumn wreath
• Styrofoam balls wrapped in festive fabric
• jars/vases filled with beans, acorns, festive candy, etc.
• DIY paper pumpkins (great craft for the kids too!)
• bundles of wheat
• old apple bushel baskets or bowls (check your local thrift stores, that's where I scored my bowl you see above on the mantel!) 
• festive scented candles or Scentsy burner with fall scents (the latter is my personal choice!)
• mini straw bales wrapped in festive fabric
• buntings or garlands made from festive fabric, burlap, apple prints, pressed leaves, etc.
• outdoors- bundles of cornstalks
• outdoors- pumpkins, mini pumpkins, and/or gourds 
• outdoors- mums, perhaps set inside a hollowed out pumpkin
• outdoors- straw bales

Creating A Holiday Planner in 31 Days!

Below is a FREE blank printable where you can fill in all of your favorite homeschooling ideas for during the autumn season- things to do just for fun but having a learning element or formal learning ideas too! Even if you don't homeschool, this is a great place to keep track of craft ideas and learning opportunities that you want to enjoy with your kids at home! It could probably go without saying, but I've included this printable in my Holiday Planner under the Autumn divider tab!

Obviously everyone's list is going to be tailored to the age and interest of their wee ones, but here's a peek at the ideas I have for our young toddler!
